Breaking News: In Need of New Bachelorette Bash. Bride HATES New Orleans!

Last night, reports of soon to be Lindsay Nicole Maher, revealed due to her most recent visit to New Oreleans to see her beloved AP Maher, that she thought New Orleans was "dirty, depressing, and never wanted to go back!"

So with that in mind, we obviously will NOT be going to New Orleans for the bachelorette's bash. (Katie Kessing, I realize you have already used your ticket voucher, so lets work to find out how we can change its with the least cost possible! Considering roundtrip tickets to New Orleans are OUTRAGEOUS, hoping any other place we go will be less and even out in ticket price.)

Ladies, Let the Brainstorming Begin!

Im thinking TROPICAL! Imagine South Beach, FL, Resort in St. John USVI, Turks and Caicos...

As I am well aware, we all want to get the best price possible for lodging, airfare, etc. There are SO many deals out there. ALL INCLUSIVE DEALS is what we should be looking for. Although some of these are "last minute" they can be really great offers. So start saving because we may have to make a quick move. recommend checking out CheapCaribbean.com Funjet, Groupon Getaways or PleasantHolidays. Kelsey in a previous comment also mentioned, VRBO

Please search when you have some free time (I know that's hard to come by, but at least its a fun search) and comment with any places that look doable. This bachelorette party is for Lindsay, but you all have a say in this too!

Off Limit Dates:
-May 24-26 Lindsay has Recital
-May 26-28 is Memorial Day weekend (recall some not being available)

Dates to Consider when Searching:
-May 17-20 (as mentioned in previous posts)

**REMINDER** This Blog is to help us all stay connected. It's a little difficult for me to gauge what you all are thinking without many responses to the requested comments! I just want everyone to have a kickass time and be able to give their honest feedback :)
I will try to keep this updated more frequently.

Wedding Preparations...dresses and wedding show

From the last time I've posted, I've seen Lindsay twice! :)  One weekend there (in Wilmington) and one weekend here (in Raleigh). Both beautiful places. Both places Lindsay initially suggested her Bachelorette Bash take place. Lindsay was thinking this...

Wilmington's Waterfront
Raleigh's Historic Downtown

But we all know, That ain't happnin'!
Spirited Bourbon Street, New Orleans!

As you all have heard, Lindsay, Jessica and I went to look at Bridesmaids Dresses in Raleigh! A visual for color, fabrics, and styles was just what Lindsay needed to hone in oh her wedding day ideas. The conclusion: shades of coral for color, a variety of styles, in identical fabrics! Although we all know women's minds change so quickly, so as Jessica said, "Can't wait to see whats new this fall!" The maids dress decision doesn't need to be made until February 2012 really, so there is still plenty of time.

Variety of Styles in Identical Fabrics
I would assume you all know since the beach bash go canceled, but AP is gone for a 6 week summer internship on the Chesapeake Bay! Coming from a relationship that was 4 college years long distance, it sucks. So any chance you get, give Lindsay a call. She would love to hear from you. Especially your thoughts on the wedding. I'm planning to go down there for the Aug 7 Brooklyn Arts Center Wedding Show. This is the actually building she and AP will wed so I'm very excited to see. I'll take some pictures for those of you not able to make it. For those local ladies, let me know if you want to join. I'll most likely go Saturday late afternoon since the show is Sunday at noon. Until next time!

New Orleans Classy or New Orleans Sassy?

Usually a few things come to mind when the words "Bachelorette Party!" are mentioned: male strippers, penises (is it plural peni?), lingerie, cocktails, sex toys, sash with matching bridesmaids shirts, pole dancing classes with one hot male teacher for each female at the party! ... okay so maybe the last one's a stretch. just one teacher for the whole class would work. But, knowing the Bride-to-be, she will definitely want some class! However, it would be no fun if the Bride-to-be didn't turn a dark shade of red a few times over the bachelorette bash weekend. And so: SASSY and CLASSY unite!

To give you the gist of what I was thinking (and as I said, make comments if you are totally against something or have a better idea).

Friday May 18
Arrive in New Orleans hopefully around lunchtime all in matching Bridesmaids t-shirts (except Lindsay of course!)
check into accommodations (Got Steph looking into that already! any updates?).
Figured we could hang out Friday and go to casual dinner and grab drinks and do the gift celebration. Comment with dinner & party locations and gift ideas - examples: Classy: joint gift of sentimental value, Sassy: lingerie theme gifts, etc.

Saturday May 19
Figured we could do something fun during the day. Get a pick-me-up-coffee and brunch at one of the many cafes. Comment with fun things to do - examples: Classy: River Boat Ride and Facials, or Sassy: Private Burlesque Class (Linz would love this!)

Streetcars will be a must for Sat Night - Get dolled up and do the Bachelorette Bash on Bourbon St! Lindsay definitely wears the Bachelorette sash tonight. Dinner, drinks, party! Classy: Karaoke  or Sassy: Cocktail Tour

Sunday May 20
Possibly Brunch? depends on departures

Lets make the best of this short but worth-while weekend and start throwing around ideas!

NEW ORLEANS HERE WE COME!

You probably bleached your a**holes at the salon!

Hey Ladies!
So First off...if you haven't seen Bridesmaids the movie,
Go! Secondly, if you haven't seen Bridesmaids the movie, Definitely GO! This movie could not have arrived at a more perfect time. For some of you this may be wedding number 10, but this'll be my first. Although quite extreme (I'm hoping we aren't dealing with lack of confidence in which end any gastronomical events come from), the movie gave me some insight as to what's around the corner.

We've all gotten to know one another through a few kick off emails, so to my main point: I wanted to start a blog for the Bachelorette Party. Getting 9108734901872 emails in your inbox all from perrone.lauren@gmail.com is annoying to read, reply to, and keep up with. So this blog is in efforts to keep everyone on the same page without continuously pinging your inbox.

I envision updating regularly and having you ladies make any comments (examples: "Lets get on the River Boat for the Day!" or "OMG Lauren you rock and have the best hair ever!", add questions (example: "Are you seriously considering giving a henna tattoo of a HUGE penis on Lindsay's lower back as her Bachelorette Party Gift?") and concerns (example: "HELL NO we aren't doing that!").  I would like to try to delegate tasks to everyone so this can run as smoothly as possible without too much work on one person since I am aware we all have busy schedules. Let's make this a kick ass Bachelorette Party for Lindsay!
