To give you the gist of what I was thinking (and as I said, make comments if you are totally against something or have a better idea).
Friday May 18
Arrive in New Orleans hopefully around lunchtime all in matching Bridesmaids t-shirts (except Lindsay of course!)
check into accommodations (Got Steph looking into that already! any updates?).
Figured we could hang out Friday and go to casual dinner and grab drinks and do the gift celebration. Comment with dinner & party locations and gift ideas - examples: Classy: joint gift of sentimental value, Sassy: lingerie theme gifts, etc.
Saturday May 19
Figured we could do something fun during the day. Get a pick-me-up-coffee and brunch at one of the many cafes. Comment with fun things to do - examples: Classy: River Boat Ride and Facials, or Sassy: Private Burlesque Class (Linz would love this!)
Streetcars will be a must for Sat Night - Get dolled up and do the Bachelorette Bash on Bourbon St! Lindsay definitely wears the Bachelorette sash tonight. Dinner, drinks, party! Classy: Karaoke or Sassy: Cocktail Tour
Sunday May 20
Possibly Brunch? depends on departures
Lets make the best of this short but worth-while weekend and start throwing around ideas!
NEW ORLEANS HERE WE COME!
I am still looking for accommodations. I have sent out emails to a couple of prospects. The problem is, is that with 10 people it def. will be cheaper to rent a house, but those are not close to the french quarter, and everything close/in the french quarter is very expensive. So I'm trying to find a compromise between our budget and not having to take a cab everywhere we go.

Sounds reasonable. I agree with the cab thing. but if there is something close to the StreetCar routes, even if farther away from French Quarter, they seem like they run fairly often and are cheap for day passes!

Thanks Stephanie!
Hey girls- my mom also has a good connection with some vacation rentals(since this is her line of work) I have a call into her about accomodations to find some cheap alternatives that aren't sore on the eyes but good for our wallets. Also flights seem to be inexpensive now too!! I'm very excited ... everything sounds wonderful !!
ReplyDeleteHEY LADIES! OH BOY AM I GETTING EXCITED OR WHAT!!! LAUREN, I JUST WANTED TO PUT IT OUT THERE - YOUR FREAKIN' AWESOME FOR PUTTING TOGETHER THIS BLOG. ALTHOUGH I'VE NEVER USED ONE BEFORE (haha!) THIS IS THE COOLEST THING AND WAY BETTER THAN MASS EMIALS :)
ReplyDeleteSOOO...TO THE POINT! I HAVE PURCHASED THE FIRST OF HOPEFULLY 10 TICKETS TO OUR BACHELORETTE DESTINATION - NEW ORLEANS!! HELL YEAYA!! BELOW I HAVE LAYED OUT ALL MY FLIGHT INFO. NOW IT WOULD OBVIOUSLY BE WAY AWESOME FOR ALL THE RDU OUTBOUND TRAVELERS TO BE ABLE TO GET THE SAME FLIGHT AS ME OR AT LEAST SOMETHING AROUND THE SAME FLIGHT TIMES SO WE COULD ALL ARRIVE AT OR ABOUT THE SAME TIME IN THE "BIG EASY"! HOWEVER, I KNOW THIS MAY BE A LITTLE UNREALISTIC BUT I WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST THAT ANYONE PURCHASING TICKETS TO SO AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO MAKE THE CHANCES OF FLYING TOGETHER EVEN GREATER! ANWAY HERE GOES:
MAY 18th
-US Airways Flight#1843 leaving RDU at 7:15am (arriving in Charlotte at 8:19am)
-US Airways (Charlotte/CLT connection) Flight#1567 departs at 9:25am (arriving in New Orleans/MSY at 10:26am)
MAY 20th
-US Airways Flight#1796 leaving New Orleans/MSY at 12:54pm (arriving in Charlotte at 3:40pm)
-US Airways (Charlotte/CLT connection) Flight#1610 departs at 4:18pm (arriving at RDU at 5:10pm)
**we all know how airlines work and there is a possiblity a flight# or time may change closer to date of travel - I will update this info in necessary!
LET THE FUN BEGIN!!

Kelsey that sounds great! Definitely would be helpful to have you looking into accommodations with Steph (esp. with your connections!)
ReplyDeleteand Katie, those flight times sound awesome. I'm gonna hope to get on board with that..although with my Europe trip coming up, it may be a few months before I can purchase. whomp whomp.

Kelsey
Kelsey, The second one looks awesome: Luxury Historic Home - Best Deal in Town #222988 (for$250-$500) per night. And it doesnt seem like our dates are for any festivals... so lets say 300/night for 3 nights = 600/10 is only $60 lodging for the weekend each!! that's perfect!
ReplyDeleteVery Nice- any of us can book it or at least inquire on it - I would be happy to - im however out of commission for the next 3 weeks due to work (they are flying me all about the next 2 weeks for press events)and family vacaction with Lindz the first week of Aug. Let me know if you Stephanie would like to continue with this or you Lauren . Just let me know !!

I don't think this will be a very busy weekend as there are no 'EVENTS' going on in New Orleans that weekend so no rush i don't think. I'd love if you and Steph would continue to work the accommodations! and when you have some down time. still pretty far out until this awesome weekend.
ReplyDeleteyou ladies weren't perhaps the girls in the crazy 80's outfits on Saturday night were you?
